July 7th marks International Cocoa Day, a special date to honor this fruit from which chocolate emerges, and by extension, exquisite bonbons. However, excessive heat can ruin your bonbons, so let’s share some tips to enjoy them without melting.
The best places to store bonbons in summer
- Cool cupboard or pantry: away from sunlight and strong odors. Better if the temperature is constant.
- Basement or cellar: with its darkness and lower temperature, it’s a good place to keep chocolate for longer.
- Refrigerator or fridge: Important – to prevent the chocolate from absorbing odors from other foods, you must store them in an airtight bag or container. To avoid moisture condensation, wrap them with kitchen paper before closing the container or bag.
However, if you store them in the fridge, avoid this mistake: remove them gradually, from the refrigerator to the coolest place you can find, then to room temperature, to finally enjoy your chocolate. The bathroom is not advisable at all, as it’s a place with high humidity and this will damage your bonbons and chocolates.
With proper care, you can continue enjoying the high quality and flavors of your favorite bonbons. At Let’s Chocolaat you’ll find a wide selection of praline bonbons with diverse textures and tastes, as well as truffle-type chocolates. All of them, when properly preserved, will allow you to enjoy their quality and flavor even on the hottest summer days.
