We are sure that during your life you have heard different myths about chocolate, but are they really true?

  • Chocolate causes acne.

Fake. It is not scientifically proven that there is a relationship between eating chocolate and acne. It has been shown that chocolate has no effect on the skin, and that the appearance of pimples can be caused by genetics, hormonal problems or different causes.

  • Dark chocolate is the least fattening type of chocolate.

TRUE. Dark chocolate has a lower percentage of added sugar compared to the rest, therefore, it is less fattening.

  • Chocolate is addictive.

Fake. Chocolate is not considered an addictive substance, although at times there may be a craving to eat this food. This is because chocolate increases the secretion of serotonin, causing well-being and pleasure.

  • Chocolate should be kept in the refrigerator.

Fake. Storing chocolate in the refrigerator means spoiling the food, since sudden changes in temperature harm it and it can become whitish and earthy. It should be stored in a dry place between 15 and 19 degrees.
